A Little About Me

Hello, I’m Katie! 🐾

I’m the proud owner of Katie’s Dog Walks & Pet Services, a small, independent pet care business based in the lovely rural village of Puddington, Mid Devon.

I’ve always been a huge animal lover, and I’m lucky enough to share my life with three wonderful Spaniels, two cats and two horses. As you can imagine, there’s never a dull moment!

Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I know firsthand just how much they mean to us. They’re not simply pets – they’re part of the family.

Following My Passion

After spending around 25 years working in a busy, fast-paced business support career, I decided it was time for a change.

A couple of years ago, a significant personal experience made me stop and reassess what I wanted from life. It reminded me how important it is to spend our time doing something we genuinely love.

Although I’d enjoyed my previous career, I knew I wanted a different pace of life, more time outdoors and the opportunity to do something I was truly passionate about.

And for me, that has always been animals!

So, I took the leap, stepped away from my career and turned my lifelong love of animals into my own business.

And that’s how Katie’s Dog Walks & Pet Services began!

Caring for Your Pets as I Would My Own

Having owned and cared for animals throughout my life, I understand how important it is to find someone you can genuinely trust with your much-loved pets.

Alongside my hands-on experience with dogs, cats and horses, I hold an NVQ Level 2 in Horse Care and Care of a Competition Horse.

I’m also fully insured, DBS checked and canine first aid trained, giving you that extra reassurance that your pets are in safe and capable hands.

Every animal is different, and that’s what makes them so special. Whether your dog loves an energetic countryside walk, your cat prefers a little quiet companionship or your horses need their usual routine maintained, I’ll always take the time to understand their individual needs.

A Friendly, Local & Personal Service

Living in Puddington, I’m fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful countryside and a wonderful rural community.

I wanted to create a business built on the things that matter most to me – kindness, trust, reliability and a genuine love for animals.

For me, it’s about much more than simply walking dogs or popping in to feed pets. It’s about getting to know the animals in my care, building relationships with their owners and making sure everyone feels happy and reassured.

I treat every animal with the same patience, kindness and attention I give my own, and I’m always happy to share little updates and photographs so you know how they’re getting on.

Starting my own pet care business has been an exciting new chapter, and I’m really looking forward to meeting more wonderful animals and their owners across Puddington and the surrounding villages.

I offer a complimentary meet and greet for all new clients, giving us the chance to have a chat, get to know each other and discuss your pet’s individual needs.
